The NSPCC is a charity concerned with the protection of children who are at risk of – or suffering – from abuse, neglect and exploitation.
Abuse and neglect are unfathomable things for many of us – who would physically hurt a child, demean them, exploit them financially, or outright sell them to someone? It is truly shocking.
Did you know that 1 in 20 (5%) of children under 11 have been neglected at some point, with one in 30 (3.7%) severely neglected? That is 1 in 20 and 1 in 30 too many children.
Did you know that childhood experiences of being beaten up or hit over and over again declined from 6.6% in 1998/9 to 4.3% in 2009? I am certain you agree that even 4.3% of children in that situation is 4.3% too many children.
The NSPCC helps these children, and helps professionals and families prevent it from happening to more children.
Please help me support them by contributing. I’m running 38 flights of stairs – can you donate a small amount to help?
